Charity Bingo at Paper Street for SI3R - August 8

Paper Street Brewing Company, 701 The Parkway in Richland

Paper Street is hosting Charity Bingo benefiting SI Three Rivers! Bingo cards are $1 and proceeds will be donated to Soroptimist International of Three Rivers (SI3R) - an organization that helps women be their best by supporting esteem-building programs, anti-trafficking efforts, and contributing over $15,000 to women in the community pursuing higher education.

Join us for a round (or two!) of bingo while you sip on craft beers that are sure to keep you wanting more. Raise a glass as we raise funds for SI3R!

Umatilla County Fair - August 8-12 and Farm City Rodeo - August 9-12

Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center, 1705 E Airport Rd. in Hermiston

Umatilla County Fair is held annually in Hermiston and generally provides traveling carnival rides, livestock and open class exhibits, live entertainers. The fair is held in conjunction with the Farm City Pro Rodeo.

Cycle for Life Tri-Cities - August 12

Check-in at REACH Museum, 1943 Parkway Trail in Richland
Check-in time 6 a.m., ride starts at 7 a.m.
Registration fee: $25 (note: fundraising minimum is $165)

CF Cycle for Life is a nationwide, one-day bicycle event. This unique event empowers participants to take action and demonstrate their fight in finding a cure for cystic fibrosis in a tangible, emotional and powerful way. Cyclists have the choice of a 23, 47 or 65-mile route. Cyclists get top notch treatment with well-marked routes, fully supported rest stops, support-and-gear (SAG) vehicles, on-site medical volunteers and mobile mechanics.

During the last days of summer the Benton City Community likes to pull together and have just a bit of fun. Celebrating with a Community Parade, Downtown Vendors, Music, Shows, Pageants and more! We know how to make these last DAZE of summer a community event!

LIGO Public Tours - August 12

LIGO Hanford Observatory, west of Richland off Horn Road, 127124 N. Highway 10.
Come take a look at LIGO!  At 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month we offer free public drop in tours that will give you an excellent look at our facility.  Tours usually last about two hours. Tours work best for participants of middle school age and up, but all ages are welcome.

Pub & Grub - August 12 & 13

John Dam Plaza in Richland
Saturday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Sunday from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Cost is $5 at the door - kids 7 and under are free

Join us for an exciting food and beer festival, Pub and Grub, at John Dam Plaza!

Don't miss out on the specials offered from nearly a dozen food vendors. Enjoy the wine and beer garden hosted by Tri-Cities Sunrise Rotary featuring beer and wine for purchase from several local breweries. Human After All art show explores the vulnerabilities of humankind, while empowering both subject and viewer to explore sociopolitical structures through artistic voice.

The Gallery at the Park’s annual juried show runs through August 18. The show features 47 works by 36 artists. Most of the artists are from the Tri-Cities, although some also are from Walla Walla, Spokane and Seattle.

A total of 66 artists submitted 194 pieces for consideration. Sarah Haven, an artist who runs the ceramics program at Central Washington University, is the juror.

The REACH Museum

Bechtel National Planetarium Shows

Columbia Basin College, 2600 N. 20th Ave. (Bldg D), in Pasco
Admission: $6 adults, $5 seniors; $3 ages 6-12, free 5 and under (purchase tickets online)

The Bechtel National Planetarium, located on the campus of Columbia Basin College in Pasco, provides life-like, high-definition images and sound using the most state-of-the-art projection system in the Pacific Northwest. The 36-foot panoramic viewing dome can simulate a 3-D effect. 

A typical hour-long show includes a 20-30 minute live presentation and a 25-30 minute full-dome movie. Presentation topics may include solar system or constellation tours, what's visible in the current night sky, and astronomy in the news.
