Fireworks Restrictions in the Tri-Cities

In the Tri-Cities, fireworks are not allowed in Kennewick, Pasco, and Franklin County. If you get caught with fireworks you are not only facing confiscation of your goods, but also fines for violating the ban that start at $250.

People in Richland (16 years and older) can use fireworks from June 28 - July 5 with restricted hours. Anything that flies could get you a $250 fine. Fireworks sold at Richland fireworks stands are legal to use in Richland.

In West Richland you can use fireworks between July 2-4 with restricted hours. They can be fired from 6 to 11 p.m. on July 2 and 3 and from 6 p.m. to midnight on July 4. Some fireworks allowed in West Richland are illegal in Richland.

Tri-City Dust Devils vs. Salem-Keizer Volcanoes - July 3

Camp Patriot 4th of July Fun Run - July 4

Start & Finish @ Gesa Stadium, 6200 Burden Blvd. in Pasco
Starts @ 8 a.m., 100 pound Club starts @ 7:30 a.m.
Cost: $35 Adults, $25 Kids* (*12 & under)


Join us for the Annual Camp Patriot 4th of July Fun Run! Finish at home plate Gesa Stadium! 5k & 1 mile Fun Run 8am. 100 pound Ruck March begins at 7:30 a.m., weigh in of packs at 7:00 a.m. Event Day Registration is 7:00 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. (online registration has closed, no mail-in registration)

River of Fire Festival - July 4

Columbia Park in Kennewick
Suggested donation: $8 per carload

Now in its 31st year, the River of Fire Festival brings in 20,000 spectators to Columbia Park with over 50 all day food and novelty vendors. Watch the largest firework display in Eastern Washington that takes place over the Columbia River and begins at dusk.

Gates open at 8 a.m., kids activities begin at noon including free train rides by J&S Dreamland Express, live music starts at 5 p.m. followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

Patriotic Speeches in The Parkway - July 4

The Richland Players Theater, 608 The Parkway, Richland

The Richland Players are pleased to present their first annual Patriotic Speeches in the Parkway in celebration of Independence Day.  Local actors will present 3 notorious patriotic speeches and songs with introduction.


This year’s production will feature Bill McMahon presenting Lincoln’s 2nd Inaugural Speech, Ted Miller singing Yankee Doodle Dandy, and Patty Cook performing Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s Solitude of Self address. This is a perfect family friendly break in your Independence Day Celebrations to celebrate America’s history.

Thunder on the Island Concert - July 5

First Thursday Art Walk - July 6

Artists are showcased in a family friendly atmosphere of local business establishments, every first Thursday in Historic Downtown Kennewick. Stroll around the approximate 10 block area of historic downtown to view art galleries, and shops filled with art and the artists who create them. Businesses and artists change each month. The Farmers' Market will also be open!

Come take a look at LIGO!  At 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month we offer free public drop in tours that will give you an excellent look at our facility.  Tours usually last about two hours. Tours work best for participants of middle school age and up, but all ages are welcome.

Marie Noorani and Nathan Robles are both local artists working in the Tri-City area. Marie Noorani works with handmade paper and Nathan Robles works with welded steel. While they employ very different materials to make Art, they are both interested in constructing new complex forms from fragmented parts.  Both artists create powerful metaphors through juxtaposition, process, and an uneasy tension between order and chaos.

You are invited to come see the artwork presented by Marie Noorani & Nathan Robles at Columbia Basin College and are welcome to attend the opening reception on June 29, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

The REACH Museum

Bechtel National Planetarium Shows

Showing this week:
The Bechtel National Planetarium, located on the campus of Columbia Basin College in Pasco, provides life-like, high-definition images and sound using the most state-of-the-art projection system in the Pacific Northwest. The 36-foot panoramic viewing dome can simulate a 3-D effect. 

A typical hour-long show includes a 20-30 minute live presentation and a 25-30 minute full-dome movie. Presentation topics may include solar system or constellation tours, what's visible in the current night sky, and astronomy in the news.
